According to Kandutsch (2015), there are three concepts when viewing a photo and studying it that are: punctum, absorption, and facingness.
Punctum referes to an object or a detail that captures the attention of the viewer either due to his/her own experiences or an old memory. Absorption is when the person being captured is immersed in the action being captured which means that there is no act of acting but a spontaneous shot of the action going up. Facingness, on the contrary, is the opposite of absorption where the person in front of the camera is obviously noticing the camera and maybe looking directly at the viewfinder or posing (Kandutsch, 2015).
According to Share (n.d.) photos are never objective since it depends on various factors. I fully agree as being in the situation and seeing it directly is by no means as seeing a photo. viewing a photo is like seeing one side of a box while being in the moment at that place is viewing the big picture.
